Work on Rail Trail Continues…Work Day Held on June 2
Work on the Belton Rail Trail continues with landscaping completed work installing light fixtures is scheduled to be completed later this month. Over 30 area citizen volunteered to spend two hours on Sunday, June 2 working on and around the trail. The Mercantile provided free ice cream to all workers. All members of the community are invited to enjoy the 1/2 mile trail running parallel with North Main Street from the Belton Library to Stephenson Drive. Future plans are to continue the trail an additional 1/2 mile to Leda Poore Park.
Girl Scout Troop 2561 led by Linda Anderson recently spent time picking up trash along the trail. A BIG THANK YOU to these girls for their help and support maintaining the trail!
