Oh, how we love the fall here in Belton, SC. The weather gets crisp and cool, the leaves begin to change to a rich hue of colors, and historic Belton radiates a fall vibe with the annual Standpipe Heritage and Arts Festival.

This year, the official opening ceremonies begin at 11 am.  Expect some of the same activities that you have come to enjoy along with some new things to do and explore.  Come join us on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, in beautiful downtown Belton!

10 Reasons You Can’t Miss the Belton Standpipe Heritage and Arts Festival

1. You’ll find one-of-a-kind items for sale:  Craft vendors will line the city square throughout the day (11 AM – 9 PM) providing many shopping opportunities! Vendors will offer everything from fresh produce and flowers to handcrafted and made-on-site items for sale.  Over 50 vendors will be onsite, so grab your shopping bag and head on down!
2. What’s a fall festival without music? The Belton Standpipe Heritage and Arts Festival is a great place to grab a seat in front of the stage and listen to various music genres.   Artists rounding out the line up this year include the Burns Brothers, the Combo Kings, Fish Out of Water, and Nashville headliner and hometown girl Margaret Haynie!
3. You can eat to your heart’s content!  There are delicious food offerings galore this year, starting with the annual full-course breakfast home cooked by the  American Legion (8 am, $10 per plate, all you can eat) and 10 food trucks serving everything from fair food like fried Oreos and mini donuts to newcomers serving gourmet burgers, cheesy everything, and of course barbecue!
4. History comes alive!  Eleven heritage skills artisans and historical re-enactors will be surrounding the historic Belton Train Depot offering glimpses into the past lifestyles of our ancestors.  Come see the artisan demonstrations and try your hand at blacksmithing, bee keeping, soap making, plowing, cooking over a camp fire, learning to play the zither, making cheese, throwing a pot, handcrafting paper, weaving a basket, and coopering a bucket.  Artisans will be presenting from 10:30 am – 3:30 pm.
5. Cruise on in!  Lining the Main Street will be at least 75 antique, vintage, and unusual cars on display. The cruise in starts at 10 AM with registration,  and all exhibitors get to vote on the top 20 cars to be awarded trophies onstage at 1:30 PM.
6. Tennis anyone?  The annual Hall of Fame Tournament features the top high school girls’ tennis teams vying for the championship title and bragging rights.  Join in the fun and watch a few sets at the City Tennis Courts from 8 am – 5 pm.
7. Iconic standpipe tours.  Once a year, the standpipe is open for visitors.  If you’ve ever wondered just what the standpipe looks like inside, stroll on down from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm and you can hear amazing stories about our city’s most iconic architectural feature.
8. Partake in some culture.  Visit the Belton Center for the Arts and the Belton Depot housing the Ruth Drake Museum, the North End Gallery, and the SC Tennis Hall of Fame to soak up the historical and artistic gems on display.  All galleries are open for tours with  new exhibits to view.  Visit from 10:30 am – 3:30 pm.
9. There’s something for the child in all of us!  Just a few of the other fun events to look forward to at this year’s Belton Standpipe Heritage and Arts Festival  are children’s art activities, face painting, gem mining, a child’s bouncy area and mini train rides.
10.  Fireworks extravaganza!  The skies light up at 8:30 pm.  Finish the evening off with a   bang!
