Gene Jameson, who is retiring as co-chair of the event after 10 years, said:  “The Chili Cookoff is a great event for Belton.  It provides exposure for our community, attracts tourists to Belton, gets local citizens involved, and provides much needed funding for key non-profit organizations serving our community.  We appreciate the efforts of these non-profit organizations and well as the support of our sponsors, committee members, the City of Belton, Anderson County and the Belton community!”

The 2027 South Carolina Chili Cookoff is scheduled for April 17.  Tammy Roberts will served as the new event chair person.

Representatives from six Belton non-profit organizations and South Carolina Chili Cookoff Championship committee members were on hand for the check presentation.
