On August 21, 2017, NASA EDGE will join forces with the NASA       Heliophysics Education Consortium and Belton Center for the Arts to air a live webcast of the total solar eclipse. The webcast will begin airing at 11:45

Participants must be aged 7-12, and living in Belton or Honea Path
All entries will be on display
The winners will be announced the Belton SolarFest

Provide Hands-On Activities for Children

Create your own Time Capsule to commemorate the August 21, 2017 total solar eclipse. To be opened on April 8, 2024 when the next total solar eclipse crosses the continental United States!

Lunch will be offered as a fundraiser  $5.00

ART CONTEST

Let your creativity launch you to the stars!  Belton Center for the Arts is hosting an art contest in celebration of the total solar eclipse!  The winner, to be announced at Belton SolarFest, will receive two tickets to SkyZone trampoline park. This art contest is open to any child aged 7-12 living in Belton or Honea Path.  Entries should depict the theme “The Great Eclipse”.  Entries will be exhibited at The Listening Room on Main, Belton’s own performance venue.

Contest Guidelines:

Participants must be aged 7-12, and living in Belton or Honea Path.

Entries must pertain to the theme of the Great Eclipse.

Pieces must be no larger than 48” by 60”.

Limit one entry per student.

All entries should be delivered to Belton Center for the Arts by August 8, 2017.

Belton Center for the Arts reserves the right to refuse any entries at its own discretion.
