Belton celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Palmetto Championships and over 125 year of tennis in the city during the Palmetto Fling on Saturday, May 28 at the M & R Pool in Belton.  Over 100 people attended and enjoyed food provided by the tournament sponsor, Chick-fil-A of Anderson.  Tournament Director Rex Maynard made brief remarks and introduced special guests from out of town.  Chick-fil-A of Anderson owner/operator Jon Holmes spoke with the crowd about the importance of serving.  The party is held each year during the Palmetto Championships.
