Tournament Director Rex Maynard said:  “This was another great Hall of Fame Classic…perfect weather, great competition and good sportsmanship all around.  We had some great matches, and other than Christ Church’s dominance and Greenville distant second we had close competition among the teams.  Only 5 points separated 3rd and 6th places.  The players, coaches and spectators were all great.  We give individual awards for each flight, but this is a team event and it’s special to see the players supporting their teammates and fans supporting their teams.  We appreciate the coaches and players giving up their weekend to compete in Belton, and hope they will find it beneficial as they start the playoffs next week.  I believe we’ll see several state champions come out of this group!”

Maynard went on to say:  “We were especially proud of the BHP girls and coach Craig Joyner.  It’s been a long time since they’ve won 7 matches in this tournament.  They went up against top competition and competed well in every match.  They’ve improved tremendously this season and I think they’ll represent us well in the playoffs starting Wednesday at Union County.”

The Hall of Fame Classic is hosted annually by the Belton Tennis Association and sponsored by Chick-fil-A of Anderson.  Maxine LeCroy served as the Tournament Referee.
