2016 Night for the Museum March 24

Tickets are available now for the Belton Area Museum Association’s upcoming Italian themed fundraiser A Night for the Museum.  The event will be held from 6:30 -9:00 PM on Thursday, March 24, at the historic Belton Train Depot.

“This silent/live auction should prove to be fun and competitive with a great payoff in the end since so many wonderful items will be up for bid,” said Events Committee Chairman Rex Maynard.

Included in the bidding will be an MSW Security System,  Hooker leather recliner donated by Maynard’s, getaways to Sugar Mountain and Wild Dunes condos, dining and party packages, jewelry, antiques, Greenville Drive tickets and tailgate, stay-cation packages, and services such as salon/spa treatments, auto detailing, and sporting/dance/music lessons. Items of interest will be included in both the silent and live auction bidding.  An updated list of auction items will be available at the Belton Area Museum Association’s Facebook Page.

Ticket outlets in Belton include the Historic Belton Train Depot, News Chronicle office, and  Maynard’s Home Furnishings.  Another location to pick up tickets is the Kitchen Emporium in Anderson.   Tickets are $20 each and include complimentary drink and Italian wine tastings, heavy hors d’oeuvres prepared by the Kitchen Emporium, a bidding card, and lots of fun competition among bidders.

In addition to the bidding, for a nominal fee of $5 per card, an Italian Themed Trivia Contest will net the winner a one-hour airplane ride over the county.

Proceeds benefit the Belton Area Museum Association and its programs.  With over 5000 visitors to the museum each year, BAMA offers historical, cultural, and educational programs free of charge to the public.  Participation in this fundraiser will help BAMA preserve, protect, and display our area’s historic treasures.

The event is being presented by the Anderson Independent-Mail, Maynard’s Home Furnishings, the Kitchen Emporium, Southern Burglar and Fire Alarm Co., and the Republic National Distributing Company.  Supporting sponsors include A and D Auto Sales, Argo and Associates,  Belton Comprehensive Dentistry,  Belton Metal Corp., Clinkscales Chevrolet, Clinkscales Drugs/Homecare Medical Aids, Collins Landscaping, Cox Funeral Home, Jan and Evelyn Holliday, Palmetto Chiropractic, Representative Mike Gambrell, SLM Inc., Bill Thomson Law Firm, and Town Square Chiropractic.
