Appalachian Folklore Tales

February 3, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Friday and Saturday, repeating until February 4, 2023

$5

The Belton-Honea Path High School Drama Department will be presenting five Appalachian tales that focus on the eerie, macabre, or downright scary stories of our mountain heritage.

“There will be dramatizations of the legends of the Brown Mountain Lights, Big Foot, Mothman, the Bell Witch, and Wampus Cat,” said BHP drama department head Alysha Sudduth.

Some tales originate in supernatural occurrences dating back to the Cherokee days.  Some were brought over by the Scots-Irish who settled the land and others originated from the imaginative folklore tellers of the last century.

The cast includes Bella Dunihue, Jake Crenshaw, Haley Jerome, Kadie Overby, Tiara Kuntzman, Skylar Shockley, Phoebe Mott, Chloe Sloan, Christian Greer, Ella Ashley, Thomas Wright, Hope Lowery, Ezra Rowe, B. Shores, T. Valentine, Kris Kimbrell, Austin Hopkins, Charlee Gleason, Bailey Fountain, Xander Cox, Issie Daritey, Andrew Phillips, Alyssa Williams, Gracie Smith, Cierra Beddingfield, Natalee Brown, Tatyana Fountain, Philip Driver, Sunny Chapman, Luke Fuller, Haven Beddingfield, Aubrie Fluharty, Jared Edmonds, and Zayne Schmidt
